Maria Zizka is a New York Times bestselling cookbook author.

She was named by Forbes as one of the most influential people under 30 in the world of food and drink. She has collaborated with leading chefs, including Yotam Ottolenghi, Chad Robertson, and Suzanne Goin, and contributed to more than 45 cookbooks. Her first solo book, The Newlywed Table, was published in 2019, followed by both Boards, Platters, Plates and One-Bowl Meals in 2021. Cook Color came out in 2023. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of California, Berkeley and a master's degree in food culture and communications from L'Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche, where she now teaches as a visiting lecturer.

Maria is an avid home cook with a deep respect for restaurant cuisine. She lives and cooks in the Berkeley Hills with her husband and two young sons. Her favorite party to host is a Sunday supper.
