Feast
I studied for a master’s degree in food culture and communications in Pollenzo, Italy at the University of Gastronomic Sciences (UNISG, for short). The school has been described as Hogwarts for foodies, and it’s true that it really does feel like a magical place. A team of current students, alumni, and professors put together a magazine called The New Gastronome, which focuses on telling stories about our global food community. For the first edition, I wrote a review of Anissa Helou’s ninth and newest cookbook, Feast: Food of the Islamic World. My article is out in print (with a photograph I took of the outrageously delicious baklava from the cookbook), and you can also find an online version here.
