Point Reyes Seashore
Graham surprised me with a weekend trip to celebrate my 30th birthday. I had no idea where we were going as he drove northwest from our apartment in Berkeley. He had written a note suggesting I pack an overnight bag with cozy pajamas and lots of great books to read. We followed a winding road through redwood groves, over gently sloping hills dotted with grazing cows, and alongside Tomales Bay, ending up on the beautiful Point Reyes Seashore.
We stayed at Manka's Inverness Lodge, a tucked away spot I've long dreamt of visiting. It was even more magical than I had heard from friends. The highlight might have been the breakfast made from local West Marin foods—housemade whipped yogurt and granola, wild honey, freshly pressed apple juice, and sweet buns still warm from the oven. Someone knocked on our door in the morning and quietly left our breakfast tray at the doorstep. I can't imagine a better way to start the day.
Thank you, Graham, for this special trip. I will remember it forever.
