Recipe Video: Valentine's Brownies

These brownies from The Newlywed Table happen to be my valentine’s favorite sweet. When I was developing the recipe, I baked batch after batch—tweaking the amount of salt, the time in the oven, and every other parameter—until they were exactly how I wanted them to be: crackly on top, fudgy in the middle. I’ve probably made these brownies a hundred times, and still they remain his favorite. I know I say this every year, but Valentine’s Day really is a holiday for staying in and cooking. Skip the restaurant reservations and make brownies instead.
