Summertime cooking should be breezy. Nobody wants to sweat in the kitchen on a hot weekend in July. The produce that’s in season right now helps the cause because it doesn’t need much. A fat tomato so ripe it’s nearly bursting, thickly sliced and sprinkled with flaky salt and sandwiched between two pieces of toast (swipes of mayonnaise, optional). Cherries eaten by the fistful.
