Thanksgiving Guide Part 3: Reviewing
So, how’d it go? I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful. We had a lot of fun hosting for the first time and nobody seemed to mind that there was roasted chicken, not turkey, on the table. We made one last-minute change to our menu—instead of rolls, we decided to make stuffing, following Suzanne Goin’s recipe from The A.O.C. Cookbook. It’s a terrific dish, one I’d be happy to eat all winter long. With every dinner party comes at least one unexpected turn of events, and ours had to do with the mashed potatoes. My parents were tasked with bringing a potato masher (a tool we don’t own) and they accidentally forgot it at home. They did bring incredible champagne and somewhere in the middle of my first glass of it, I had the idea to use the whisk attachment from our stand mixer to mash the potatoes by hand. It worked like a charm.
