Testing Team Buttons

Testing Team Buttons

When I asked for volunteers to test recipes for my cookbook, I thought four or five people might be interested. You can imagine my shock when nearly one hundred people enthusiastically signed up. Graham helped me create an organized system for keeping track of all the testers’ information—names, emails, foods they don’t eat, number and type of dishes they’d prefer to test—and then he wrote some code that took in all that information along with data about the recipes themselves and output a list that paired testers with recipes. We had our mighty Testing Team!

The recipes went out to everyone and soon after I started seeing photographs of my dishes on dining tables around the world. Some testers even made foods that were served as part of their families’ Thanksgiving meals. It was amazing, heartwarming, and one of my favorite parts of the cookbook-making process.

To show our appreciation for everyone’s hard work and helpful feedback, we made these fun buttons that will be tucked into thank you notes. Graham designed them, my brother-in-law Reed Bradley drew the pie illustration, and Broken Seal Buttons in San Francisco manufactured them. Thank you very much to our Testing Team!
