Spring 2020 Releases: Part 1

This is the first in a series of posts highlighting spring 2020 cookbooks. Now is a fantastic time to buy books, and it’s easy to do so without leaving your home; you can support local independent bookstores by shopping online with Bookshop.

My wanderlust has only grown in recent weeks. Reading these new cookbooks has helped make me feel like the world is bigger than our little apartment.

1. Drinking French by David Lebovitz:

Filled with cocktail recipes—bien sûr—but also historical context and stories about French café culture. I love the list at the back of the book about his favorite shops in Paris, and I can’t wait to explore them all one day.

2. Dinner in French by Melissa Clark:

Another Francophile author who writes with much affection for all things French: the people, farmers markets, kitchens, and traditions. Dreamy photographs will transport you to a stone country house with wooden shutters and curved iron balconies.

3. My Korea by Hooni Kim with Aki Kamozawa:

The chef behind this book divides his time between New York City and Korea, and the recipes reflect this duality. I greatly appreciate the minimalist design and step-by-step photography. I’m planning on making the dolsot bibimbap as soon as I can.
