There’s a new restaurant that I can’t wait to visit: Bar Le Côte in Los Olivos. You remember my love for Bell’s? This spot comes from the same brilliant duo of Daisy and Greg Ryan, plus a few talents added to the team. The menu is dually inspired by the daily catch of California’s Central Coast and the modern cuisine of Europe’s seaside capitals. Oysters on ice, gambas al ajillo, whole roasted sea bream, Santa Barbara sea urchin. I’ll take one of everything, please! I’ve been lucky to see sneak peeks of all the exciting things happening at Bar Le Côte as they prepared to open because Graham’s design studio, Roxaboxen, worked with them on the visual identity for the restaurant (and my brother-in-law Reed drew the beautiful illustration below!). I know I’m biased, but I think it all looks exquisite. BLC is open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday, 4 to 9p—meet you there?
